The day started with some very mixed results for our junior team members largely due to two particularly spooky fillers which caught many seasoned campaigners out. However Andrew Kempe with Miss Darnton’s six year old Rodlease May Delight completed a double clear and finished 3rd individually in the Junior section. The junior style jumping also bought us some very good results with Abbie Wilson and Burley Touch of Gold in 2nd place (and qualify for the championships at Lincoln), Sorcha Easson with Charford Capalcoille in 3rd and Andrew in 4th Place with only 4 marks between them.
The Senior style jumping brought a very good 3rd place individually for Rhiannon Randall and Kashman Joe with the team in 5th Place.
Several very heavy deluges in the afternoon made conditions very testing for the two round senior novice team competition coupled with the same two spooky fillers. No team could manage to finish on a zero score and only 4 individuals managed double clears. However our ponies were very consistent, coped well with the mud and completed the day 2nd out of 13 teams. Rachel Smith with Sturtmoor Song 'n' Dance actually produced three clears to win the class outright and also qualify to go to Lincoln - a brilliant result. Only 8 people over the course of the junior and senior competitions managed double clears out of some 80 competitors and two of those were our NF ponies. |
