Dionis Macnair has lived in the New forest all her life, where her Beacon ponies are bred. No one could better describe the history of the ponies and their use over the last fifty years. Not only colourful pony characters are described but also human ones (many from personal knowledge). Dionis Macnair was secretary of the New Forest Pony Society for 33 years and is still a New Forest elected Verderer.
