He beat off all the horses with an amazing clear round over the solid 3’ 3” pre-novice course (hedges bigger!) at Eland Lodge, Derbyshire. It was a very tough, technical course with the widest log table I have ever seen, two jumps into water and a climb up a steep staircase followed by one stride onto a solid brick wall. Even with the extremely fast speed of 475m/min he managed to be only 0.5 seconds off the optimum time. Earlier in the year he was 2nd at the BRC XC championships and placed at the Topscore Showjumping championships at Royal Windsor and the NPS M&M WHP championships at Malvern.
