Once again the NFPEC have come out on top at the very highest level, at the BRC National Winter Dressage Championships - a brand new Riding Clubs Competition. Each of the 23 Areas run qualifiers with up to 26 teams competing at each qualifier - the winners from each Area then come forward to the final at Hartpury. Teams came from the length and breadth of the country - the top Riding Club dressage riders from Scotland to Cornwall with some fantastic looking horses. However our team were not at all fazed by their fellow competitors and put in absolutely fantastic performances - despite the gusty conditions, a hailstorm and a bout of flu!!
The team: Caroline Saker - Wayland Loganberry, Sophie Albery (fresh out of juniors) on Brookshill Beethoven, Sally Anne Pierson - Chester II (last minute reserve for Jenny Steel and Wayland Mulberry) and Mandy Pidgely - Longcopse Elton won the team championship by a very healthy margin. Caroline and Logan, with a score of 76.36%, took the overall individual title.
Meanwhile we also had our senior show jumpers in action - in fact Chester took part in both championships - jumping a good clear straight out of the dressage prize giving!! The ponies put up excellent performances with Rachel Smith - Sturtmoor Song'N'Dance and Jane Cleal - Farriers Brown Bear both jumping double clears. Vicky Palmer with Farriers Fair Impression made up the quartet - also with two good rounds.
