MORE SUCCESS FOR THE NFPEC!
There has been more success for the NFPEC at the recent Riding Club Winter Dressage Qualifier, which is a new competition and was held at Sparsholt College on Sunday 20th January.
The competition consisted of two tests, a prelim and a novice, both of which was ridden by two team members.
We managed to field two senior teams, consisting of the following ponies and riders: |
Thankfully, after all the dreadful weather we have had recently, we were lucky and all managed to stay relatively dry throughout the day, although it was rather windy for those ponies doing the prelims outside!
Mandy was the first of us to ride and started us off brilliantly with a score of over 70%, which eventually led to her winning her Novice section. Jenny Steel and Sophie Albery (who is in her first year as a senior) both did very well, each coming 2nd in their prelim sections. I then won my Novice section, with a score of 74%. These scores ensured that the NFPEC Gold Team won the team competition, which consisted of 16 teams, with a considerable lead over the second placed team. – a fantastic result! Best efforts were given by all of the Green team & promising tests were performed, however, their scores were not quite high enough to be placed. By winning, we have qualified for the Winter Dressage Championship, to be held at Hartpury on the 5th and 6th April.
In the afternoon, the Winter League continued with the Individual competitions and again we were all very successful. Jenny won her other Prelim test, Mandy was 4th in the Novice and I won the Elementary.
So overall, the New Forest Ponies had a fantastic day and I would like to say a big well done to everyone.
Currently, the NFPEC lies in 2nd place overall in the league, with me and Logan current leaders in the individual competition.
