Performance and Grading
MARE GRADING
These schemes cover both Stud and Forest Bred mares. Mares have to be at least 4 years old and have to have had at least one foal. The Forest run mares are judged on the open Forest and the stud mares are judged at Beaulieu Road on a specified date usually in September. It is also sometimes possible to get your mare judged at the Breed Show . This is done to help those people who live away from the forest get their poniesGraded.
The Society runs occasional grading days in the North of England where performance ponies and Stud mares and young Colts can be assessed.
