Unlike last year, Ponies UK experienced nothing but rain but that did not stop the show from going ahead. The New Forest In Hand classes were judged by Mrs Pat Campbell and the young stock classes only saw one entry in each class which was a shame. The Yearling class was won by Mrs T Turnbull's yearling filly namely Bisterne Delta, the 2 and 3 year old class was won by the Marley Dene's Stud two year old colt Marley Denes Shiraz by Applewitch Pure Magic. The four year old and over class was very well supported with some nine ponies forward for judging. Mrs Campbell's choice for first place was the bay stallion Wayland Golden Harry bred by Mrs Mary Bryant and now owned and exhibited by the Marley Dene Stud from Yorkshire. In second spot was the very nice mare Woodrow Honey, the Championship went to Wayland Golden Harry with Marley Denes Shiraz taking Reserve Champion and Woodrow Honey being award the First Reserve Championship for her owner.
With Wayland Golden Harry taking the New Forest Championship he qualified for the Daily Mail M&M In Hand Championship which was judged in the Evening Performance on Tuesday. There were some lovely ponies forward for judging which proved difficult for Mr S Anderson however Wayland Golden Harry was pulled forward as one of the top five ponies in the line up much to the delight of his owners. Wayland Golden Harry also got his ticket for the Cuddy Breeders Challenge which is to be judged on Saturday at 6pm.
The ridden was judged on Wednesday again by Mrs Pat Campbell, Wayland Golden Harry again claimed the red rosette The ridden saw a strong class of some 12 ponies forward for judging. With Harry taking first place he again qualified for the M&M Ridden Championship judged in the Evening Performance which did not enter the ring until 10.45pm. The Connemara took the M&M Championship but all competitors did receive a Supreme Championship M&M Ridden commemorative rosette for taking part.
