Bridleways and Byways Trust Ride for Access

Two New Forest ponies recently showed their typical hardiness and stamina in completing a sixteen day 250 mile ride from Dartmoor to Cornwall with their equally hardy riders Catriona Cook MBE (67) and Elizabeth Kirk (88)
accompanied by Venetia Craggs with her Connemara X.

Catriona rode 6 yr old Burley Scylla and Elizabeth was riding  her 23yrs old Millersford Nicholas Grey.
Catriona estimated that Burley Scylla completed 300 miles on one set of shoes

Suzanne Kempe with Rodlease Jubilation and Sally Anne Pierson with Furzley Accolaide joined them for the final section finishing at Burley Manor by kind permission of Dan Tanner. They were greeted at the end by representatives from the BHS and Audrey Scott-Hopkins who had taken photographs from vantage points on the last section across the Forest.

The aim of the ride was to raise funds and awareness that many of our rights of way to the countryside will be extinquished in 2026
