Entries are now open for the 2025 Society Annual Breed Show, and this also includes our cattle classes.

An integral part of the Breed Show and history of the Society for many years, the cattle classes originally took place at the Breed Show itself, but more recently (in the last 30 years) have always been judged ahead of the show on competitors holdings, or on the open forest
The cattle classes comprise of six main classes for forest run and non-forest run cattle, youngstock, and those sired by native breeds. The classes include a forest run championship and specials for the best young commoner.
This year we are pleased to be able to introduce a new ‘Commoners Beef Herd’ class, in memorial to the late Matthew Gerrelli, a great supporter of the Society cattle classes over many years and previous cattle champion.
The new class (C7) is open to practising commoners in the year of the Breed Show with the winner being presented with the Beechwood Cup.
The herd judged to consist of a minimum of three animals of any breed or age, but at least one to be entered in class C1 or C2 and will be judged at the same time as classes C1 & C2.
The full details of all the cattle classes are contained in the cattle classes schedule pages. Entries can be made using our online entry system here:
