Thank you to all members who attended and supported this year’s AGM, which proved to be a full and enjoyable evening. As well as the official business, the evening included a number of Society awards and a special presentation and donation to the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance.

The Society extends its sincere thanks to Jane Murray, who has served as an active and committed Honorary President over the past year. Jane now hands over the role to Suzanne Kempe, with Sabine Andreé Parsons confirmed as President Elect for 2027.
Sadly, a number of members retired from Council this year, along with the Honorary Secretary Jenni Cavanna, but we are very pleased to welcome some new faces and look forward to working with them.

A particularly special moment of the evening was the recognition of Brian Ingram for his extraordinary contribution to the Forest community over more than 65 years, including Society President (twice) and a Council member since 1959, when he became a New Forest Agister replacing Hubert Forward. In recognition of his long and dedicated service, Brian was presented with a unique painting of the Forest by local artist Claire Kitcher as he stepped down from the Council, with the Society’s heartfelt thanks and appreciation.Members also enjoyed an informative and thought provoking talk from our guest speaker, Dr Sarah Blott of Nottingham University, who covered the important subject of equine genetics and her analysis of the New Forest Pony Studbook.
