I’ve never had a New Forest before, but honestly McFlurry has changed my son’s life! Unfortunately in November he had to have colic surgery to save his life, but before then my son Dylan (who’s just turned 11), competed him successfully at BD up to elementary level. We thought we would dip our toes into showing whilst rehabbing him to the strength he needed for elementary (training at medium at home) and he’s been really successful at local level, with so many lovely comments.
My son is a para rider, after a battle with stage 4 bone cancer at the age of 7. He had two years of intensive treatment and has beaten the very low odds and is now just over two years in remission. Cancer did unfortunately take away the use of Dylan’s left leg, but you wouldn’t know it when he’s up on Flurry…who quite literally gives him his legs back!
