Endurostyle Elite Champions at Pony Club National Championships at Offchurch Bury…Congratulations to Milly Stride & Nutschullyng Jen’s Locket! 

This event was a combination of Endurance riding with some extra horsemanship tests, including riding two 10km loops at an optimum speed of 12kmph, trotting up for the vet before and after the ride, opening and closing a gate, crossing a river in less than 60 seconds, (thus the wet boots!), walking across an open field, using a slosh bottle whilst mounted, and a water complex. 

The final results in Endurance are based on a formula which links final heart rate and speed. Jen finished on a very respectable 41bpm heart rate just inside the 12kmph time, they completed loop one at 15kmph and loop two at 11kmph which gave them plenty of recovery time before the final vet check. Endurance is very much about tactics and Jen really could have gone round again! Riding on the Forest prepared Milly and Jen perfectly for the competition, over the past six months Milly has competed in the Pony Club Hacking Challenge, riding Jen and Brock Bartholemew.
